The final environmental review process for a links-style course in Westport is teeing up a battle over how to revive a famous fishing town.
Westport, Washington (December 12, 2024) – Westport Golf Links, the David McLay Kidd seaside links-design currently being planned in partnership with the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission (WSPRC) in Westport, Washington, will soon enter the 45-day public comment period in response to the project’s Environmental Impact Study.

Westport Golf Links is approaching the final stages of the environmental review process, and if approved, could be a catalyst for the local economy. Westport estimates the course will create 350 jobs along with a $20 million per year impact, according to King 5 News.
On Dec. 8, 2022 Washington State Parks will hold an in-person open house to update the public on the progress and status of ongoing master planning efforts at Westport Light State Park to consider a Scottish-style links golf course.
